Tips for Preparing Your Proposal

  1. Print out the CDP New Media Grant FAQ (click on the FAQ button to the left to view). Keep it handy!
  2. Download the CDP New Media Grant Guidelines and Full Project Budget Excel template (click on “Grant Guidelines” or “Budget” to the left).
  3. Prepare your proposal narrative. Please respond to the questions in the order listed. Please use our headings to organize your answers.
  4. Complete the Online Grant Application Form by noon on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 (available on our website on September 2, 2008). Please be prepared to electronically attach and submit the following as part of your application:
    • Proposal narrative
    • Resume for project director
    • Full Project Budget Form
  5. For the online application, you will be required to provide your zip+4 and congressional districts. You can obtain this information ahead of time at: http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/welcome.jsp and http://www.vote-smart.org/index.htm.
  6. Allow at LEAST two hours to submit the online grant application
  7. If mailing sample work, it must be received at CCH’s San Francisco office by 5 pm on October 1, 2008.)
