Elderly Chicanos in East Los Angeles tell their stories in radio documentary

This radio documentary presents a portrait of elderly Chicanos in East Los Angeles and explores the challenges these residents face in making a life in California.

The project was directed by oral historian and author David Greenberger, who collected the stories and shaped the material into documentary form.

Greenberger has been talking with old people and collecting their thoughts in the periodical The Duplex Planet for the past 25 years. He has appeared on NPR, CBC, BBC and NBC-TV to talk about the power of listening to the elderly.
