Documenting the lives and work of Mexican migrant women in Central California.

This project documented the life and work of Mexican migrant women using photography and interviews.

" We know very little of the story of migrant women's origins and their migration and settlement in California," said Project Director Saundra Sturdevant. "What does exists concentrates on men's experience. This project brings migrant women into our images and existing discourse."

Exhibits took place at a number of venues, including the Santa Barbara Museum and La Pena Cultural Center in Berkeley.
