The emerging progressive evangelical movement
This cinema verité documentary explores a side of evangelical Christianity not usually portrayed in the media — one that embraces issues of poverty, race, global justice and the environment.
The film follows the lives of a handful of individuals involved in the progressive evangelical movement as they preach to their congregations, feed the poor in downtown soup kitchens and organize anti-war protests.
The award-winning filmmakers Katie Galloway and Po Kutchins most recently produced and directed ”Prison Town, USA,” a California Documentary Film about the effect of the prison industry on the town of Susanville, Calif., one of hundreds of rural towns across the country that hitched their hopes to the great American prison-building boom of the 1980s and 1990s.
The filmmakers expect to finish “Preaching Revolution” by fall 2008.
