This was a continuation of a photo-documentary workshop that Gail Brown began in 1995 with some 100 Latino youth in Los Angeles area. The youth documented their experiences using photographs and words and incorporated their work into handmade artists books. As part of the project, Brown photographed the participants.

For this part of the project, Brown photographed and interviewed 15 to 20 past workshop participants, now maturing young adults, and then worked work intensively with a core group of six. The six created artists books about their lives.

The photographs and artists books were exhibited at the Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena and at Cal State University, Los Angeles.
