Elizabeth Partridge on Dorothea Lange and Woody Guthrie
Clayton Library presents speaker Elizabeth Partridge, author of "Restless Spirit: The Life and Work of Dorothea Lange" (Viking, 1998) and "This Land Was Made for You and Me: The Life and Songs of Woody Guthrie" (Viking, 2002). Recordings of Woody Guthrie's music and slides of Dorothea Lange's photographs of the California Dust Bowl immigrants and the Great Depression.

Moraga Library presents Nilda Rego, author of "Days Gone By in Contra Costa County, California," who will begin the evening with a discussion of Contra Costa County during the Great Depression. Chris Sindt, an English professor from St. Mary's College, will then lead a community discussion of "The Grapes of Wrath."
