Biographical film and host readings of Steinbeck's works
East Palo Alto Library will show a short, biographical film and host readings of Steinbeck's works by community leaders.

Month of October
El Dia de Los Muertos
El Dia de Los Muertos will be a special feature in the exhibit hall at the East Palo Alto Library during the month of October, as Steinbeck spent some time writing about this holiday in his work "Cannery Row" and in other writings. El Dia de Los Muertos will feature traditional and contemporary altars created by school and community groups.

October 14
Trip to National Steinbeck Center
East Palo Alto Library will take a group of approximately 40 middle and high school students to the National Steinbeck Center in Salinas, California. The trip will include a two-hour tour through the interactive, multimedia exhibit hall and a 45-minute walking tour to view John Steinbeck's boyhood home, the Steinbeck library and the old courthouse, where his father worked.
