Creating a play from the stories of three generations of war veterans

This project will produce a 90-minute play based on the stories of six California veterans from three different war generations: World War II, Korea and Vietnam, and the recent conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The six veterans will be drawn from the Veterans Administration Greater Los Angeles Health Care System. The veterans will be paired with professional writers who will help them develop and communicate their stories.

Loyola Marymount University students from dramatic writing and oral histories classes will serve as writing and production interns throughout the play development process

The play will be professionally produced and performed in July, October and November 2009 in several venues in the Los Angeles area.
