Five Exhibits of Photographs by Immigrant and Refugee Teens

The Generation Project
Riverside

More than a dozen teens at La Sierra High School, mainly newcomers from Mexico, South American and Central America, are the young photographers in this project. The lead photographer is Douglas McCulloh, whose work has been exhibited widely in museums, academic institutions and art galleries.
“ Our aim is to provide the students with the means to creatively articulate and communicate their experiences as newly arrived immigrant youth, with particular focus on the challenges they face in trying to preserve their culture while trying to adapt to life here,” said Project Director John Worden.
