Aqui/Ahora: Portraits from Santa Ana High School
Santa Ana
Here. Now. Aqui. Ahora is a study of the immigrant community of Santa Ana
from the perspective of the city's immigrant youth. Pulitzer Prize winner
Don Bartletti, the project's lead photographer, instructed students in
composition and technique through a study of his work on assignment in
Mexico, Afghanistan and Iraq. Students learned to write their own powerful
narratives in workshops with program poets Sue Cronmiller and Allison
Miller, and conducted day-long photo excursions with photographers Jose
Flores and Allison Miller.
